A tent in your backyard or a nearby field adds a touch of gaiety to special holiday occasions. Decorate for the day without having to mess up your entire house. The pros at Hendersonville Tents can set up your entire party and tear it down when you’re through.
All that’s left for you to do is plan the menu and festivities. Consider a buffet that frees you up and removes the worry. Choose a theme around which the food and games are planned. A few ideas to get your thinking hat in gear include:
Movie Time: Set up a big screen with a seasonal movie like Christmas Story or It’s a Wonderful Life. Ask guests to come in period dress. Serve soda fountain drinks and ice cream sundaes. Set up a Christmas tree with angels hanging on it or use a giant leg lamp as the centerpiece of the buffet table. Hand out angel wings or little red BB gun decorations as gag gifts.
Christmas Cookies: With a theme set around Christmas cookies, you can’t go wrong. Ask your family members to each bring their best cookies along with the recipe. During your party, get copies made of all the recipes and give a little booklet to the guests as they leave. Serve hot cocoa, coffee and apple cider to go with the snacks.
It’s a White Christmas: Even if it doesn’t snow much in the South, you still can give your family parties a white theme. Ask everyone to wear something white. Order your linens in white and make white centerpieces. Decorate a white tree in a corner and go all out by serving only white food! How about a menu that consists of white turkey meat, mashed potatoes and white creamed corn, followed by a white coconut cake and milk?
