2015 Fall Color Wedding Trends

Fall is a beautiful time to get married in the mountains. Early in the autumn, the landscape is still dominated by lush greens and bright pops of color from flowering shrubs. Mid-season is marked by the stunning reds, yellows, and oranges the area is famous for. Later in the fall, the scenery becomes so calm and serene, you feel as if you’re tying the knot in a scene straight out of a nostalgic photograph, done in shades of black, white and gray.

When you hold your celebration outdoors under a tent, it’s easy to view these hills as a custom backdrop. So coordinate the colors of your event with the gorgeous surroundings. Every wedding is unique and yours will be no different, but being aware of the wedding trends of the season can help you find just what you’re looking for in your own event.

A Pop of Color in the Dress

Classic white is always beautiful on a bride, and modern brides often opt for colors such as ivory or off-white, as seen in recent wedding trends. For your fall wedding, consider adding a pop of deep autumn color in a sash, a delicate spray of flowers across one shoulder, or a pretty corset detail in the back of your dress. Coordinating the attendants’ wear in a similar color ties it all together.

Across the Spectrum

Rather than having all of your bridesmaids in the same exact color, consider dresses in deepening shades of the same hue: think pale apricot to deep pumpkin or shades of green that go from new-leaf pale to deep pine. This trend has the added benefit of allowing bridesmaids to choose dresses in tones that flatter their own coloring. More and more wedding trends emphasize individuality in attendants as a good thing, and this certainly fits that bill.

Deep Purple

Purple is one of the hottest wedding trend colors right now, and this regal shade looks stunning in a late fall wedding. Picture your attendants in shades of plum, the cake adorned with violet petals, and your purple flower arrangements making a striking statement against a somber landscape. Breathtaking.

A Whiter Shade of Pale

When you consider pastel wedding trends, you might think more about springtime weddings. But adding some pastel color softens up the atmosphere if you’re using dark or bright colors in your fall wedding. A combination of hues in your bouquet or in the floral arrangements gives your color palette a depth and vibrancy that will look absolutely stunning in person and in photos.

Country Colors

One of the biggest wedding trends this fall is the country-themed wedding. Think about tans with rustic but comfortable wood seating and burlap touches, sunset-hued shades, deep apple red, and tones of green and gray, mimicking the colors seen in wooded hills and valleys. This versatile color trend can work anywhere, from accenting an elegant black-tie affair to tying together your casual outdoor event.

It’s All About You

Looking at different wedding trends can get you started on the path toward your perfect color scheme, but in the end, it’s all about you. There’s no one-size-fits-all wedding color trend. Mix and match to suit your taste. And just like you did when you said “yes,” follow your heart.
