How to find YOUR wedding photographer!
Just like picking your colors, venue, food or wedding dress, when it comes to finding a photographer to capture your special day you will most likely have more than a few options to choose from! This is a big task for most brides and though it may seem a little overwhelming at first, we can assure you that once you know what you want, it will be an easy task to check off your massive to-do list! Let's start with first things first...
BUDGET
For many couples, photography is an aspect of their wedding day that they value highly. It's not an area where most couples want to have to skimp on in quality, experience and service and that's a good mindset to have when it comes to documenting the most important day of their life, love story and legacy! However, when it comes to many couples over all initial budget, they often don't know how much money to set aside for booking the right photographer for their needs and preferences within their budget...later becoming the number one regret we often hear from husbands and wives who were not educated on pricing when they hired their wedding photographer. You don’t have to break the bank to hire a good photographer you just need to know how much you should set aside for your wedding photos for your personal preference and needs. No couple should ever have to regret not hiring the right photographer to document such a monumental day in their life just because they didn't know what the right investment was for them!
When the question comes down to should you hire an amateur or professional...spend or save! You should always weigh the cost of what you will lose vs. gain. Think not only about your budget but what you want in return from your investment before you start the process of choosing and booking your photographer. This one act will definitely help you out in the long run in being completely satisfied with your investment!
What's the difference in the pricing of photography services you may ask!?
Experience, Equipment, Education, Demand, Location and Packages (hours worked and products included)!
So what can you expect to spend on your wedding photographer’s services? Research shows that photography will normally take up about 10% - 15% of a couple’s overall budget and the average couple normally will spend about $2,000 - $3,000 for the photographer. Ultimately, it is all about what you want in return on your investment. Pricing can be broken down into four basic categories:
Budget: photographers run from under $1,000
Moderate: photographers average between $1,000 and $3,000
Upscale: photographers between $3,000 and $5,000
Luxury: weddings photographers average between $5,000 and upwards of $10,000
Additional costs:
Extras can include more hours of coverage, additional photographers, special albums or photo books, parent albums, or additional shoots (such as an engagement session). Film photography will also be an additional expense.
Discounts:
1. Weddings are often scheduled on weekends, and some photographers may offer discounts on weekday weddings or in their off season.
2. Military discounts are often offered to those who serve or have served our country.
